THINGS TO CHECK ON AN ARF

I haven't been by in a while.  I was locked out for some reason, but that has been corrected.   Here is one of my latest articles designed to help newer pilots be successful. THINGS TO CHECK ON AN ARFby Ed Andersonaeajr on the forums  The next big step after an RTF is an ARF, or almost ready to fly aircraft.  ARFs are aircraft that are 70% to 90% built.  Here you are typically selecting and installing all the servos, ESC, battery, receiver and using your radio.  You may be expected to do some…Continue

New design in the works...

Hey guys!!!I know it's been some time since I stopped in to see how thing have been going but like the man said... "I've been busy".  Between moving cross country from Georgia to Arizona and losing family members and friends it's been kind of a rough time for the last few months.  I myself am doing great now that the storms have settled down for the time being.  Have a great new lady in my life and lots of things going on to keep me busy and out of the bars. One of the things that's been keeping…Continue

Top Flite Metrick

I have the Top Flite Metrick on the bench right now, on the final stages of building the fuse.  Anyone built one of these? any suggestions? I will be adding a bit more dihedral, the 1 1/8 the plans call for dont seem to me to be enough. Also plan to eliminate the balanced rudder and make the rudder bigger. ChrisContinue

INTRODUCTION

This is a review of techniques and examples of covering EPP foam gliders with laminating film in preparation for building my FSD Kaze. First, a comment by Karl (Predator) who pioneered the "new stuff":

I have found an AWESOME new covering material! I think, so far. . . It comes…

Once in a lifetime

Posted by Eric on August 21, 2009 at 3:30pm 5 Comments

Really every flight is once-in-a-lifetime because each is different and if you fly often a lot of weird things happen - but this was eye-popping.

When Randy Carr (fatlion.com) told me that the DAW S-126 is one of his all-time favorites, I decided to restore my S-126. Here's what Randy actually said:

BTW, my poly-S1-26 is quite maneuverable. I do rolls…

Welcome to RCGliderAndSailplane.com!

I moved to Boulder, Colorado in '07 for health reasons so I fixed up my old DAW S1-26 and bought an Easy Glider Electric to help me unwind and get business off my mind. Having lots of fun learning to fly again after years without... building FSD's Kaze and teaching my kids to fly with the SuperFly. I enjoy building these social networking websites in my job and thought it would be fun to put this one together for glider pilots. More about me...
