"The flight sim is very good for orientation issues and can prep you for the real thing. The Electricus looks like a fine plane and should be a good one to start with. If you have sailplanes in your sim, practice those so that you're not…"

"Like Ed said, respect the wind. More than once, on a windy day, I've gotten too low on my base leg and turn to final just to be totally blown out of control and dumb thumb it into the ground. On a calmer day, the same approach is no problem."
